Virginia GOP Legalizes Sodomy
On Tuesday night Show Rachel Maddow brought this story to
us about the Republican controlled State House and Senate passing a bill which
would require doctors to perform a transvaginal ultrasound on any woman seeking
an abortion without her approval. That
means that doctors will be allowed to ram an object into a woman’s vagina
without her permission legally. How
ignorant is that and why was it allowed to even get this far? Up until she
expanded her coverage with a segment in tonight’s show, this seemed too farfetched
to believe. I could not believe that
veterans like I was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice so elected
officials could take away freedoms earned on the battlefield. But what truly makes my blood boil is that it
seems the voters of Virginia is just sitting by and allowing this to happen. It makes me quite sad that Virginia voters
care so little for the blood, sweat and tears that veterans spilled so they
could have the freedom of choice, that they can offer advice when it comes to
things that do not affect them but when it comes to growing a spine and
standing up for their rights, no one is home.
Tonight Rachel interviewed Virginia State Delegate David
Englin who attempted to add an amendment to that bill which would require
written consent of the woman before the procedure could be performed. What makes this laughable is not that it
failed so badly according to Ms. Maddow but the fact that the only opposition
to this bill that they were able to muster was a weak demand of approval before
the commencement procedure. This
procedure is a direct violation of a woman’s person and in other phases would
be considered sodomy or rape. The Virginia
State Government is now telling doctors that they can legally sodomize women
and I still cannot hear any voices of opposition. This bill should have never made it to paper
at all.
I blame those who voted these individuals into office and
those who seem afraid to galvanize, recall or demand better from their elected
officials. I blame the elected officials
who seem to be stuck on stupid hiding behind an unknown group or being for sale
to the highest bidder. I blame religious
organizations like the Catholic Bishops who claim religious freedom for
themselves but not for the women of Virginia.
But I reserve much blame for those who decided to stay home during the
mid-term elections. Candidates of the
2010 midterms ran on a job creation platform but like those in Washington have
done more to strip jobs that create them.
I do not know when enough will be enough for those voters in those
states that are determined to take us back to the stone ages but until it does
happen, try just slapping the next veterans you see instead of proving yourself
worthy of the freedoms that many of our friends died to give you. It would surely hurt less.
