Rockford’s West Side Welcomes Real Southern Home Cooking

To the residents of the west-side of Rockford, nothing was missed more than an elegant restaurant where the atmosphere was welcoming and the food was out of this world.  Well now west-side residents have to worry no more. 

Welcome Granny’s Home Cooking Restaurant.  It is located at 3605 Auburn Street and can be reached by phone by calling 815-962-1200.  Their hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 5am – 8pm and Sundays 5am – 3pm.  Trust me when I tell you that the food taste farm fresh for every meal.  There is no such time as wait time between ordering and receiving your meals and the prices will amaze and delight you.  Imagine feeding a family of 4 a full meal including desserts for less than $30.00 in this economy.  The staff is engaged and very enjoyable not to mention treats you with a style of family that only few has ever experienced.

I have been there several times and each time I tried a different dish to see if the farm-freshness was consistent with all meals.  I was not disappointed.  Granny’s also allows you to order breakfast anytime which means if you rise a little late, fear not because Granny’s has you covered.  I was even blessed to witness something that I had never seen before.  If you are a senior and can’t come to them or if you are bed-ridden or shut-in, Granny’s staff will bring their outstanding menu of foods to you.  Yes, you did hear that right, they deliver.  You can also call ahead and pick up your meals if you are of a mind.


For quite some time, Rockford’s west-side appears forgotten by the other areas of the city and other businesses but Granny’s did not forget where she came from and now that she is here, the residents are going to make sure she stays.

  I find it quite humorous when I hear people claiming to be one thing or another.   Claiming to be a republican, a Democrat, or an Independent but the thing that seriously bothers me when people claim the title of Christian and yet act like a total hypocrite.
