America’s silent Majority

It used to be called the silent minority but lately it’s been all about the silent majority.  Only God really knows why because for an educated person such as me, it makes no sense otherwise.

The Tea Party has invaded and taken over the Party of Lincoln and have decided that what they want they are willing to kill for.  They did this in a country that has maintained its vow of equal rights and even put it in the U.S. Constitution.  They have supported and pushed this desire that government should be small but still large enough to monitor all pregnancies and force women to keep the baby.  They have hid behind the Bible yet instigated the violation of God’s law of “thou shall not kill”.  They want government out of our lives but the power that they wish to take from the federal government; they want to give it to state government.  Can someone please tell me our that keep government out of our lives if you transfer one power of government to another power of government?

Corporate America backed up by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants to dismantle the unions in this country but can not be counted on to create jobs here.  They want to reduce worker’s ability to get a living wage and be able to receive slave labor in a country that has outlawed slavery and made it part of this nation’s constitution.  If politicians see a need to go after unions, should they not also go after entities like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce?  Did not the Citizen United case give business the same rights as individuals and if they can have the same rights does this not also mean that they should have to suffer the same fate?  If you really want to know how to fix our budget problems at the State and Federal level, image all of the money that Corporate America is spending to buy politicians and influence lawmakers to do things their way.  Image how many jobs that could be created with that money, how many budgets that could be brought balanced and how swiftly the economy could recover.   To be completely honest, I do not know how anyone can call an entity the U.S. Chamber when it does nothing at all to help this nation in it’s time of need.  Corporate America wishes to spend millions buying votes than creating one new job or idea and these is the people we wish to protect at the risk of losing our middle class.

These and many more is only a small fragment of voters yet they are the ones with the loudest voice.  Not because they can speak better than the majority but because the majority wishes to remain quiet as if they are afraid of offending someone.  There is an old saying “don’t complain about government if you didn’t vote”, I guess since many of us stayed home during the midterm elections explains why the minority speaks louder than the majority.
